Things To Do in Ogden Utah

Travelling is one of the best expenses because the memories you make in a sense, will make you richer. Life should be more than just working to pay bills. Believe it or not, there will always be more bills no matter what you do. Your children on the other hand, will only be young once. We all only have one life to live so while I do not encourage a life of thrill seeking, I strongly encourage you to make time for the things and people that matter. When was the last time you thought of something fun to do with your whole family? It does not have to be expensive. All it takes is a little forethought and planning. If you live in or plan to visit Ogden, Utah, please consider these options.

Ogden Nature Center

There is no better word than ‘oasis’ to describe the beauty of the Ogden Nature Center. This oasis makes it easy for you to imagine what Ogden was like before we started tampering with Mother Nature. Your family will enjoy exploring the wetlands, grassy areas filled with gorgeous wild flowers and trees around the Nature Center. In addition to the breathtaking scenery, this place also hosts a ton of exciting, workshops and live demonstrations throughout the year. You can even reserve a place for your kids to spend their summer days here.

Beus Pond Park

If you are in the mood for a leisurely stroll through a well maintained park, this is the place for you. Beus has been a popular spot for dates and special romantic events throughout the years. If you turn your visit here into a family event, you can enjoy watching your children at a safe distance as they run and play. Children also love feeding the ducks and watching the fishes swim about. You can also arrange family picnics here since seating and tables are provided in some parts of the park. Beus Pond Park also has facilities for biking and jogging.

George S. Eccles Dinosaur Park

Children are always fascinated by the idea of dinosaurs. They were enormous and certainly quite magnificent creatures. That is why everyone gets excited when you tell them you are going to visit George S. Eccles Dinosaur Park. The exhibits are interactive and very well orchestrated. The life size displays make it easy to forget that they are not real dinosaurs. Your kids will also be thrilled to watch the mechanized models as well. I know I was!

Cold Springs Trout Farm

Fishing is fun! Many parents are pleasantly surprised to see how much their children enjoy fishing. The fish here range from 6 to 25 inches and the water is crystal clear so you will be able to spot them all. Anyone who has visited this little trout farm will tell you that you are guaranteed to catch a few fish even if you are new to the game. But please pace yourself. These fish can cost you up to $10 each. Thankfully, the staff cushion the blow by providing everything you’ll need to prepare the fish for you to take it home. You are in for a great time.

Peery’s Egyptian Theater

A trip to Peery’s Egyptian Theater is like stepping into the past. Peery’s has been around for ages and a lot of the original features were preserved during its restoration. Visiting this theatre is a great opportunity for you to learn more about the history of Ogden and Egypt as well. This place is the ideal spot to watch movies, concerts or plays. It is not uncommon to hear it described as the most beautiful theatre in Utah. You can be the judge of that the next time you plan an outing in Ogden.
