Check Out These Salt Lake City Museums
Museums are awesome! Visiting a museum is a great opportunity for you to learn but still have fun, whether or not you go with family or friends. Best of all, no two museums are alike. The museums around Salt Lake City feature various artistic expressions, historical displays and scientific discoveries. There is so much to see and do now since these modern day museums involve interactive displays, videos, life size replicas or whatever else it takes to engage their audience. Great information on Salt Lake City. Here is a list of some of the must see museums in SLC.
Natural History Museum of Utah
A trip to the Natural History Museum of Utah is an easy way to learn more about the people and the state of Utah. If you want to spend about two to three hours exploring the original inhabitants of the state, dinosaur bones and fossils, this is the museum for you. Best of all, this museum hosts school children up to 2pm each day. Thereafter, you will be able to roam the halls in peace and quiet as you make your discoveries.
Clark Planetarium
The Clark Planetarium always gets great reviews. This place is not only a planetarium, but it is also an observatory and museum. Essentially, that means you can not only learn about the vast universe by means of pictures, guided tours and displays, you will also have the opportunity to gaze at the stars while using powerful telescopes. Just imagine how much fun it would be to take your children here!
Wheeler Historic Farm
Do not make the mistake of assuming that a museum must be indoors. A trip to this historic farm is literally like walking into one of your history text books. You can take the whole family along too. The kids can see live animals and perhaps get to try their hand at milking cows or feeding geese. You could also book a ride of a historic wagon for no more than $3. Many families also have picnics while they visit this educational farm since the grounds are well maintained and the view is simply spectacular.
Art at the Main Gallery
I strongly recommend that you take a trip to Art at the Main Gallery whether or not you have an artistic side. Visiting this gallery will give you the opportunity to view or purchase sculptures, glasswork and even framed paintings from local and regional artists. This gallery is not only affordable, but it also gives you a real taste of what inspires local artists.
Classic Cars International Antique Auto Museum of Utah
This museum features some of the most interesting cars you will ever see. It is really quite something to view these well maintained antique cars from all over the country. This museum has over 100 classic cars for you to enjoy so you are certainly in for a unique, unforgettable museum experience.
The Hope Gallery
The next time you are in Downtown, SLC, you should ensure you visit The Hope Gallery. The museum itself is very beautiful. It was once a bank and still has some of the original stained glass, marble tiles and wooden panels. While this gallery is strictly a commercial entity and there is little opportunity to learn, it is worth the trip to have the opportunity to explore the vast collection of the work of distinguished artists from around the world.
